How did the mummy fix the hole in her bandages?
September 27, 2014Answer: A pumpkin patch
This is the first of many wicked Halloween and pumpkin related puns to Fall this season... At least we didn't say 'good' puns :). Even though Halloween is more than a month away, our kids have already bought their costumes and are asking us to put up the decorations.
Explanation for the kids (and bad puns)
The Mummy is one of the usual cast of Halloween characters, first made popular by Boris Karloff playing an ancient Egyptian priest called Imhotep in the 1932 film "The Mummy". Mummy is also an easy target for halloween jokes because it is the British version of Mommy.
Mummies are a popular Halloween costume becauase they can be made at home with wrapped gauze bandages. Though most kids, including ours, get the bright idea to wrap themselves in toilet paper. Whether you are a 3000 year old mummy or a 3 year old one, some ripping and tearing of the bandages is bound to happen.
So what do you do when your bandages tear... you patch them, of course. Except the most common patch this season is a pumpkin patch. We take our kids every year to Big Springs Farms to pick out a pumpkin and take some pictures.
