Answer: A palm tree

This was the first pun (or joke for that matter) that my son ever learned. He was so proud, he told it to everyone over and over. I should have taken a video of him holding out his tiny hand when he told the joke.

Explanation for the kids (and bad puns)

Besides being the cupped part of your hand between your fingers and your wrist, a palm is also a kind of tropical tree. Palm trees grow quite large, as high as 80 to 230 feet tall, so the thought of one fitting in your hand makes this pun extra ridiculous.
